Beautiful and colorful Dubuque

Posted on July 27, 2018December 17, 2021 by mettelindgaard

I went to Dubuque to visit my friend Rachel. Driving there I was thinking: here’s a part of the world that will never run out of corn. But happy I was, when I got there, not only to see my friend, but to realized that she lived in such a cool spot. Green and hilly right on the Mississippi River. Cute old downtown. And yes, great murals all around as well.

Go check our Cathedral Historic District and Downtown. Walk down Main Street for a great selection of murals. When in that area of course turn down 4th street to also take the Fenelon Place Elevator for a nice view of down town.

Murals in downtown are part of the Voices Mural Project. The ambition is to trigger cultural vibrancy through the democratic and transformative power of street art. The project organized the creation of 18 mural by 2017. More funds have been allocated in 2018, so there should be even more to come.
